Another facility is born on EXCELSIOR ESTATE.
Excelsior Estate founded in 1859 has been in the De Wet Family for 5 generations. Until 2005 the De Wet family farmed EXCELSIOR in their own private way.
BUT ………….. with new generations and new marketing another era was born. EXCELSIOR opened its doors to the public in 2007 starting with a guesthouse and a wine tasting facility.
Now in 2011, we are opening our conference and wedding venue.
The new venue is renovated from a one hundred year old stable block where the DeWets used to keep their thoroughbred stallions. These stables are being renovated to perfect condition with the original Oregon ceilings, windows & doors and also the original feeding troughs!
We at Excelsior are proud to share our history with you. The wedding venue facility is suitable for small weddings of up to 30 people in a variety of configurations. These can be catered for according to the client’s requirements.
Accommodation is available in the Excelsior Manor Guesthouse. The guesthouse offers 9 classically styled en-suite bedrooms, a swimming pool, stunning views and an in-house chef for your gastronomic pleasure.
For relaxation or fun, you can blend your own bottle of wine and taste the EXCELSIOR wines with the sound of water beneath your feet. Walks in the vineyards will blow all the cobwebs away and you will feel fresh at the end of the day.
